hlw Keeble Hawson scoops prestigious legal award shortlisting

hlw Keeble Hawson's private client department is celebrating being shortlisted for a highly respected industry award.

The team is among the finalists in the highly competitive Private Client category of the Yorkshire Legal Awards which saw entries grow overall by 20% this year. The private client department is headed by Michele Todd, acknowledged by the esteemed Legal 500 guide as 'technically excellent and a -name to note. Head of family law, Vanessa Fox, who is also chair of South Yorkshire Resolution, is also rated by the guide as a key player and a -skilled litigator. The department is achieving year-on-year growth in average net worth of clients, bespoke tax planning and the administration of estates up to £30m. Expansion of the department's dedicated charity arm has seen it forge key partnerships. They include being North of England legal partner for Small Charities Coalition and presenting a series of governance seminars for trustees on key issues. A champion of giving back to its local communities, Michele Todd is a trustee of South Yorkshire Community Foundation and independent residential care home, Taptonholme. The firm has contributed over 400 pro-bono hours to wide-ranging charities since June 2015. Initiatives spearheaded by the private client team include collaborating with Sheffield Hallam University to help elderly residents write their wills and giving students practical work experience.
