Hotel On The Moon... Seriously?

24th June 2016

Wednesday 29th June 2016 5.

30pm - 7.30pm Peter Jones Enterprise Academy, Sheffield City College, Granville Road, Sheffield, S2 2LR Feel that youngsters today have no ambition? Anxious that education is not preparing young people for the future? Not equipping them for your business needs? And worried just where the next generation of Young Entrepreneurs will come from? Well worry not. We can allay your fears First of all... a Hotel On The Moon is a serious aspiration of one of our presenters on the night. And he's not joking! He's about to launch his business Vicuna Royal... and scarves will be priced at £6000! He's presented his concept in the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy national competition - one of only 6 young people chosen from across the country... and he's from Sheffield! Hurray! We'll also hear from a panel of students who were presented with a challenge from Lewis Bowen of Air. Faced with an opportunity to export his eco-friendly candles - which country should Lewis target? And why? Cue the five teams of students who would research countries, assess the feasability, present their research findings to Lewis and his team... and wow, what a result. We loved their presentations - we think you will too! So, where do they get their money from for their business ideas? Well, they pitch! Earlier this year, Natwest hosted a fabulous pitching event for the college and we had a panel of 14 local business owners and advisors to hear those pitches. And here's your chance to hear them too! Two of our groups will present their pitches (they might be a little improved as a result of the feedback)... and if you feel so inclined, you can of course invest! We'll also hear from the college team, some of the businesses already engaged with the college, the placement providers, and lots lots more! It will be a great opportunity to learn more about the college, show your committment to young people and make new contacts! We're expecting a full house! We'll start at 5.30pm and plan to finish at 7.30pm, 8.00pm at the latest. We'll need to know quickly if you can join us. If you have any questions about the event, please contact us on 0114 243 4666 Click here to book.
