We are delighted to announce that Sheffield city council have awarded us a 10-year concession, to deliver a comprehensive free public-access Wi-Fi network in Sheffield City Centre. The first phase of the project will be delivered by the end of May this year, with ongoing rollout continuing into 2019 and with further developments to follow. All the parties involved in the development of the project, have a common goal of developing Sheffield into a truly digital city. Idaq Networks' unique approach, will see it strive to be the best public access Wi-Fi network in the Country. Idaq Networks own and operate its own network infrastructure in Sheffield and the provision of the City Centre Wi-Fi is an exciting phase of our planned network development. It's a fantastic opportunity for us to deliver further connectivity options and it will enable us to reach every address in the City Centre with ultra-fast broadband services. Furthermore, it will enable us to offer a number of cutting edge, highly competitive services, that will be completely unique to Idaq Networks' customers. Additionally, a city centre App will be developed; providing the platform for a range of Digital High Street initiatives to be created. The intention is to offer an attractive and animated experience for users and provide conditions that allow a super-fast, digitally-connected and vibrant city, to thrive. Amongst many other things; it will make it easier for visitors to access information about the city centre, such as retail and leisure attractions, as well as offering a platform for several new developments and pilot projects. The App will also offer significant potential benefits to businesses in the city centre, by offering greater efficiencies and ways to attract new business - all designed to help them succeed and grow.
