International Trade L!ve #2 Event Recording

23rd June 2021

Look back at the recent event recording of International Trade L!ve #2, which took place on 22 June 2021.

Watch back to discover and gain insight to the topics that are impacting global business. Keep abreast of the changes your business needs to be aware of and to gain answers to questions or concerns you might be facing.

This event’s hot topic focused on all things finance, specifically questions around UK EU VAT and global foreign exchange trends.

Since the UK left the EU single market and customs union, one of the most complicated issues concerning importers, exporters and cross trade conditions has been that of VAT payments.

  • Who pays what?
  • How do I reclaim the VAT I paid to the EU tax authority?
  • Why can’t I do triangulation business anymore?
  • Do I really need to set up a VAT registered company in one or more EU countries?
  • Will IOSS affect my business?

Questions go on... And the net effect of not understand the rules could cost your company £000’s.

We were delighted to team up with our long-term sponsor UHY Hacker Young to provide vital support to businesses. Michelle Dale, an indirect tax specialist and a leading figure in UK-EU VAT joined us at the event to provide detailed information and answers to critical questions.

In addition, with Foreign Exchange rates set to become much more volatile as global markets start to recover from the pandemic, Brexit and the deep-seated issues relating to the global economy. We also welcomed Andy Dobson of moneycorp. Andy has over 25 years experience working in global FX markets and explained how without first-rate FX management, £000’s can be gained or lost.
