IRWIN MITCHELL HOST SEMINAR TO HELP FIRMS NAVIGATE THE FESTIVE PERIOD

TheSheffieldoffice of law firm Irwin Mitchell is to host a seminar on 22 November 2012 to help employers gear up for dealing with employment issues that can arise over the festive season and winter months.

The event, which will be aimed at experienced HR managers and decision makers, will cover a number of topics and provide an opportunity for attendees to discuss their concerns in relation to: - How the Equality Act restricts a business' ability to celebrate Christmas and display symbols associated with it such as Christmas trees. - Whether a business can refuse holiday requests because it is busy. - How to deal with employees who are absent as a result of an event organised by the company; or staff members who cannot get into work because of travel disruption or unexpected school closedowns. - Avoiding claims of discrimination and bribery when giving or receiving gifts. The forum will take place between 8-10am at Irwin Mitchell's offices at 2 Millsands inSheffield.
