Firm Continues Investment in Expanding Its Business Team The Sheffield office of law firm Irwin Mitchell has appointed dealmaker Michael Hall into its fast growing Corporate & Commercial team.

Michael, who moves from Hill Dickinson in Sheffield, has experience advising on a wide range of corporate transactions, specialising in acquisitions, disposals and private equity deals. Michael also advises clients across a variety of sectors on general company law issues, as well as acting for both individuals and corporates in relation to joint ventures and shareholder arrangements. Commenting on his move to Irwin Mitchell, Michael said: -Irwin Mitchell reputation in Sheffield for high quality corporate work is well known and I was keen to be part of a successful team and to help contribute to that growth. I'm from the Sheffield area and am passionate about the region, and I know Irwin Mitchell share that and are committed to further expanding its commercial presence. Irwin Mitchell recently announced that in Yorkshire during the first half of 2014, it advised on deals with a total value of £423m. During the period, the seven Partner department worked on some of the region's highest profile deals including the multi-million pound MBO at 250-year old tool manufacturer, Spear & Jackson. Other deals in the region that Irwin Mitchell in Yorkshire has advised on include the £21m acquisition of Ask4 by Darwin Private Equity, the sale of bathroom company Cavalier to HLD Group, Lockton's acquisition of motorsport insurance broker MIS Motorsport, the £2.5 million growth capital investment in Horbury Group and Rotherham-based Underwood Meat Company's purchase of Butlers.
