JE James Cycles Win 2 Industry Awards

5th October 2015

JE James are fresh back from winning 2 awards at the annual BikeBiz cycling industry awards.

The South Yorkshire and Derbyshire based business was the most nominated company across the board with a total of 5 nominations, winning 'Best In-store Experience' and 'Best Workshop' awards. The awards are a recognition of J E James' hardwork over the past 18 months, making major cosmetic and service improvements to the company's 3 store's, as well as improvements to enhance the Service Centre's customer delivery. Partner, Mark James, said of the awards -We were amazed to be nominated for 5 categories. The two awards J E James have won really mean a lot. As a Cycle Retailer we are proud to win 'Best In-store Experience' and 'Best Workshop'. It also shows that by offering a unique customer experience and service, local independent businesses can still thrive and excel alongside the bigger national companies, and are an important contribution in making the local retail landscape a more unique and exciting place to shop, to get people coming back. The company is also developing other services. J E James BikeWorx is the companies in-house cycle to work scheme which has seen a steady increase in the number of companies signing up. It's not just cycling for leisure and sport that's on the up, but also employers realising the benefits of enabling their employees to cycle to work as a way to improve workplace health and reduce congestion on the roads. What's in store for the future of J E James, already the UK's largest independent cycle retailer? A continued improvement and capitalisation on the increased interest in cycling. With the 2016 Tour of Yorkshire being mooted as a 4 day event for 2016, some great local races such as the Sheffield Grand Prix and Tickhill Grand Prix, as well as increasing memberships in local cycling clubs, the future of J E James looks good for both road and mountain biking!
