Jenx named most outstanding exporter at Made in Sheffield Awards

26th August 2021

World-renowned postural support specialist Jenx have been recognised for their international presence in the export market at the Made in Sheffield Awards.

Jenx was recently presented with the Export Award at Cutlers Hall in Sheffield after judges deemed the manufacturer the region’s most outstanding exporter in terms of their worldwide presence, substantial export growth and high proportion of export sales.

The Hillsborough-based Jenx is an established company who research, design and manufacture specialist equipment for disabled children. Their products include functional seating, standing frames, sleep systems and therapy products; all of which can have a life-changing impact on a child’s life.

Jenx is a recognised leader in the postural support industry worldwide. Their products are distributed across the UK through its distribution division Jiraffe, but Jenx is also an established brand across the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Italy, Portugal, the United Arab Emirates and more.

Dan Limb, Divisional Director of Jenx, said: “For many children, the postural support equipment that we manufacture is literally life-changing, making it so very important that our products are of the highest possible build quality.

“We know exactly what goes into each and every one of our products, and take great pride in the fact that the vast majority of the components and parts we use have been made onsite. Those that aren’t, are supplied by nearby manufacturers to support local businesses.

“Our international presence has also been made possible through the considerable time our team spend talking with distributors and visiting key markets to understand the challenges facing each global region in order to identify solutions.

“By being proactive, we’re able to deliver a finished product that not only is the exact solution our distributors and customers are looking for, but is a product that feels like their own.”

Holly Jenkins, Divisional Director of Jiraffe, added: “I’m so proud of the whole team across Jenx and Jiraffe for making this incredible accomplishment possible, especially against the challenges of a global pandemic.

“There’s a certain pedigree about being ‘Made in Sheffield’ that is recognised by audiences not just in the UK, but around the world. It’s a testament to the standards we uphold that Jenx products are recognised for their quality internationally.

The prestigious Made in Sheffield awards celebrates local companies with an ongoing commitment to world class quality and excellence in manufacturing, and brings national and international business contacts to demonstrate what the Sheffield City Region has to offer.

Jenx Ltd is a family run company which was founded by a paediatric physiotherapist and a product designer in 1982, with the aim of enriching lives and changing perceptions about disability.
