Join our pack and run for Support Dogs!

30th July 2015

Sheffield Chamber are putting together a team to run the Great Yorkshire 10K Run on September 27th in Sheffield all in aid of Charity of the Year, Support Dogs.

With our current President, David Thurkettle (PWC) leading the pack, he already has Past Presidents Jon Stewart (Siemens) and Yuri Matischen (MLS) and Board Members Matt Ainsworth (Irwin Mitchell) and Simon Bladen (Hawsons) in the team. Also joining them from Sheffield Hallam University, Patron's of the Chamber, is Lloyd Snellgrove, who is also a member of the Chamber Council. Chamber President David Thurkettle, in a call to action, implored council members and Chamber Members to -join in the fun and be part of the growing movement to make Sheffield a fitter and healthier place to work, live and fund raise! He added, -talent isn't an issue, just guts and determination! So come and join the Chamber teams! Aiming for 2 teams of 12 runners, we are entering under the Business Challenge category, so as well as the power struggle to be crowned top dog amongst our teams, we also need to stave off the competition from other city businesses. We are aiming to raise £5000 for the charity, meaning a manageable target of £250 per runner. This will cover entry to the race, plus each runner will receive a t-shirt and a 'doggy' bag! Please help us to support this brilliant local charity that trains life changing assistance dogs for children and adults affected by autism, epilepsy and physical disability. With little over 2 months to go, are you up for the challenge? Please email events@scci.org.uk for more details. Support Dogs is the Sheffield Chamber Charity of the Year 2015.
