Kilimanjaro trek raises over £90,000 for Roundabout youth homeless charity

11th March 2026

They reached the top…and topped their fantastic fundraising efforts after raising £90,000 for South Yorkshire’s youth homelessness charity Roundabout.

A team of intrepid Roundabout supporters took on the challenge of climbing Africa’s highest mountain, Kilimanjaro.

By the time they reached the summit after eight days of walking through tough Tanzanian terrain, they had climbed 5,895 meters – and with each step along the way being sponsored, the total has now reached more than £90,000.

“I can’t put into words how proud we are of them, or how grateful we are for the incredible amount they’ve raised to fund our vital services and help us support over 500 young people every day,” said. Roundabout Fundraising Manager Emily Jones, who also took on the challenge.

“If you’d like to make a difference to young people’s lives in South Yorkshire, consider taking on a fundraising challenge. It doesn’t have to be climbing Everest or completing a skydive – what about running Sheffield 10k or a bake sale? Every penny supports young people who are homeless or at risk, helping them turn their lives around.”
