Commercial property experts Knight Frank found a home for 58 fundraising elephants in Sheffield.

The Sheffield office stepped in to secure an 8,000 sq ft holding space for the herd of 1.6m tall elephant sculptures which had been entertaining crowds in the city centre and were then auctioned off to raise £410,600 for The Children's Hospital Charity. The uniquely decorated herd, which formed one of the biggest mass participation events Sheffield has ever seen over the summer, was housed in vacant space at Vantage Park before being auctioned off to help raise the charity cash. Rebecca Schofield, partner at the Sheffield office of Knight Frank, said: -We have been asked to accommodate some unusual companies in commercial property over the years but this had to be one of the strangest requests. -Knight Frank, and our client E V Waddington Limited, were pleased to help Sheffield Children's Hospital with this request.'' The unique elephant sculptures were located in Sheffield's parks and open spaces and celebrated the city's creativity. More than 75% of artists decorating the animals came from Sheffield including well-known names Pete McKee, James Green, Jonathan Wilkinson and Lydia Monks who all put their own creative mark on the fiberglass sculptures. Money from the Herd of Sheffield auction will be used to fund a Multipurpose Fluoroscopy System for Sheffield Children's Hospital, a life-saving piece of equipment which obtains real time moving X-rays. Rebecca Staden, fundraising manager for The Children's Hospital Charity said: -We'd like to say a massive thank you to Knight Frank for looking after our elephants before they went off to auction! One of the best things about the Herd of Sheffield was how it really brought the local business community together and Knight Frank's involvement is yet another example of this. Vantage Park in Tinsley was built speculatively with £1m funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), by Rotherham property company and investor E V Waddington Limited and has attracted a host of new companies to the area looking for modern industrial usage. British Glass, Plascompo, Prosurface, Cafeology, Ventilation Direct and Interlink have all located to Vantage Park on Sheffield Road. Just three units remain from the 10 built in the already established commercial location which fronts onto Sheffield Road close to junction 34 of the M1.
