KPMG to open client hub in Sheffield
24th March 2016
Global professional services firm KPMG announces plans to expand its presence in Yorkshire with the opening of a new client hub in Sheffield's city centre.
The firm, which provides the full breadth of audit, tax and advisory services, has signed a lease on space in The Balance, Pinfold Street. Chris Hearld, KPMG's north region chairman, said: -We prize a significant and growing client base in Sheffield and the wider South Yorkshire economy. Our team spends a great deal of time with the region's clients at their premises and our hub will complement this, giving us a focal point in the city centre for meetings, for networking with other city professionals and a landing place for global KPMG specialists visiting to work with South Yorkshire organisations. Chaired by local KPMG partner Adrian Stone the new client hub, which opens later this year, will be led by director Philippa Sanderson. Both will be known to many having worked in South Yorkshire for many years. Hearld added: "This senior pairing sees colleagues with close ties to the region dedicating themselves to clients in this market. Adrian is returning to his Sheffield roots after completing national audit leadership roles in London whilst Philippa has worked in this region for over a decade, with an established reputation as a leading tax professional. Philippa Sanderson commented: -These are exciting times for South Yorkshire, with announcements of growth, investment and empowerment for the local economy making frequent appearances. As those of us who work in this diverse economy know; from its heritage steel and engineering businesses to the innovation and knowledge based organisations which stem from vibrant universities, it is a substantial contributor to the potential of the Northern Powerhouse. -KPMG works with organisations that reflect the full spectrum of the regional economy, from those at the backbone of the public sector, to global organisations and privately owned businesses, all of which significantly contribute to its energy. -This gives us a strong platform for growth which we are in no doubt is enhanced by a visible presence in Sheffield. It is our ambition that the hub will create a gateway to the best KPMG has to offer; combining market leading sector knowledge and technical specialisms. Initial feedback already suggests that it will prove to be extremely beneficial for clients and contacts alike. Pamela Mathieson, KPMG Senior Business Development Manager, added: -On the back of our recent investment in a new client Hub in Sheffield, KPMG is delighted to join the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce. We're back in the City which demonstrates our commitment to the Sheffield City Region and its position in the Northern Powerhouse. We will bring the best of KPMG locally, nationally and internationally to the region to support its growth and development. Our membership of Sheffield Chamber provides an important conduit to our interaction with the business community.
