LAND: Fuelling Future Talent and Giving Back to the Community

LAND is proud to announce its ongoing commitment to fostering the next generation of engineers and giving back to the community.

In 2024, the company has been actively involved in a range of initiatives that demonstrate its dedication to education, safety, and social responsibility.

To inspire future engineers, LAND has engaged with local schools and students. The company participated in career fairs at Chesterfield College and Dronfield Henry Fanshawe School, showcasing the exciting world of engineering and providing students with valuable insights into the industry.

Additionally, the annual Business Challenge offered a platform for talented students to showcase their marketing skills, with the winning team recognised at the Get Up To Speed (GUTS) event. Furthermore, LAND partnered with the EDT Industrial Cadets Program, providing students with hands-on experience.

Safety is a paramount concern at LAND. The company collaborated with Dronfield Fire Station to conduct training drills, emphasizing the importance of temperature control and ensuring the well-being of employees.

LAND is also dedicated to employee well-being and community support. The company’s social committee organised a successful cake sale that raised £350 for Paralympic athlete Jack Shephard, with surplus treats donated to Chesterfield Foodbank. The company is also looking forward to the completion of Skills Street, which it is sponsoring.

In August, LAND welcomed students from the STEM Employability Summer Academy (organised by The Work-wise Foundation), which provided them with valuable insights into the world of engineering and inspired them to pursue careers in the field. 

The company’s work placements program has also been instrumental in supporting students’ career development. LAND is excited to announce a forthcoming partnership with another school to create workshops for North Star 2024.
