Laura Comments "Solicitors for the Elderly has very high standards to ensure its members are giving the best advice to elderly and vulnerable people and I am proud to be a member" Laura is also Chair and a very active member in Sheffield SANDS, a regional branch of the national stillbirth and neonatal death charity. The charity is based in Sheffield but helps people all over the South Yorkshire region. Having gone through her own experience, Laura found that there was a lack of support in the region and in 2017 accepted the role as Chair of the charity. The charity has a monthly support meeting and is involved in many different activities to raise awareness and help those who need it. Parents who have been through the experience can feel alone and lost, and the charity is working hard to let people know they are not alone. The charity also works with hospitals to provide training to staff in how to deal with situations and to provide ongoing support to staff and patients. If you or someone you know would like to get help or if you are interested in learning more, please visit the Sheffield SANDS Facebook page for more information. "Sheffield SANDS is a charity that is very close to my heart and I am proud to be the Chair of it. All the team are incredibly dedicated and we have had an amazing first year creating a great foundation for us to build on."
