Law firm on the case with special business award win

17th February 2015

A South Yorkshire law firm has been singled out for a special award by the city business community.

Sheffield Chamber of Commerce has chosen Wosskow Brown Solicitors for its 2015 President's Special Recognition Award. Established in the city 25 years ago, the law firm was given the award as a result of its continued evolution and investment in staff and the region, as well as its charitable work and support of the local community. The award was introduced by the Chamber to recognise businesses within the Sheffield City Region making a significant impact. Winning businesses must demonstrate rapid growth, the innovative ways in which services are delivered plus a commitment to corporate social responsibility. Wosskow Brown has its headquarters based at Attercliffe Road, with two other Sheffield sites and, more recently, new offices in Barnsley. To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Wosskow Brown last year created a charitable foundation to provide practical help, inspiration and opportunities for local people to reach their ambitions through business, charity, and grassroots sport. It is hoped the foundation's practical programmes of support will enable organisational and individual development, enhancing communities and creating jobs. The firm also recently entered into a new sponsorship commitment with the Sheffield Sharks Basketball Club spanning the next two seasons - and with the addition to the workforce of Sharks' player and Captain Mike Tuck taking on a marketing role within the company. Sheffield Chamber President David Thurkettle said: -Wosskow Brown is a firm that is constantly evolving and developing. The firm has invested in its people and its offices across South Yorkshire, and this has led to impressive growth in revenues of more than 60 per cent in recent years. -Wosskow Brown takes the welfare and development of staff seriously and this is clearly reflected in the high quality of services delivered to the client base. -The partners appreciate the importance of working within our communities, raising an impressive total of more than £25,000 for charity last year alone. Wosskow Brown partner and head of corporate commercial Kiley Tan said: "It's really gratifying to be recognised by the President especially when it is a 'special' award and there are so many great businesses in Sheffield to choose from. -It's really a tribute to our all our staff for delivering the innovation and growth to our business. This award will definitely spur us on in continuing to up our game when it comes to our client care and offering our services in new and innovative way.
