Leadership change for Mercia Learning Trust in September

Mercia Learning Trust is thrilled to announce the appointment of Neil Miley as the new CEO, set to commence his role in September 2024.
Neil brings a wealth of educational expertise and a proven track record of transformative leadership, currently serving as Deputy CEO at Dixons Academy Trust in Leeds, Bradford, Liverpool and Manchester.
Neil has been a successful teacher and leader Dixons for many years. In 2015, he was appointed as principal of Dixons Kings Academy in Bradford. Within two years, the school moved from an Ofsted rating of Requires Improvement to Outstanding and the progress measure places the school in the top 60 nationally.
His strategic vision and experience in fostering collaborative networks align seamlessly with our commitment to excellence and innovation. Neil's enthusiasm for joining our Trust is evident, and we anticipate that his dynamic leadership will contribute positively to our educational community, and Sheffield as a whole.
Neil's alignment with Mercia Learning Trust's operating model of 'aligned autonomy' resonates deeply with his belief in empowering individual schools while ensuring alignment with collective vision. He believes this approach allows for the harnessing of unique strengths and perspectives, creating a richer, more diverse educational experience for all students.
As Neil looks forward to his new role at Mercia Learning Trust, he carries with him invaluable experiences and lessons from his diverse leadership roles. His commitment to building an environment where every voice is heard and every member of our trust feels valued reflects his belief in the crucial balance of individual autonomy and collective responsibility.
