Leading Businessman Becomes Patron for Local Cancer Charity

24th August 2015

One of the region's leading individuals for healthcare has become a patron of a local cancer charity.

Westfield Health's Non Executive Chairman Graham Moore is a new patron of Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity, the dedicated charity for Weston Park Hospital. Graham, who is heavily involved in community work across Sheffield, wanted to support the charity's work after seeing its impact first-hand. Graham said, "I'm absolutely delighted to become a patron of this fantastic charity. Weston Park Hospital is our region's only dedicated cancer hospital and one of only a handful in England, so supporting the charity and its work is vital in ensuring that patients from across the region can access the very best in cancer treatments and care." "Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity is a jewel in Sheffield's crown and through its efforts, countless lives have been extended and/ or saved. I'm very proud to be a patron." The charity needs to raise over £1.8 million this year to enable the funding of committed and new projects that will keep patients at the forefront of cancer treatment. Throughout 2015 the charity will fund various projects to enable the continued improvement of Weston Park Hospital; including the expansion of research studies, improving the way cancer treatments are delivered and supporting the ongoing care provisions of patients and their families affected by cancer. Cancer Charity Director, Samantha Kennedy said, "We are extremely pleased that Graham has become a patron for the cancer charity. Thanks to the support of high profile individuals like Graham, we can continue to raise awareness of the charity's work and ultimately benefit over 75,000 cancer patients." -We are confident that, with Graham's pledge of support, we can continue our good work in the future."
