Leading city car dealership nominated for major industry honour

30th May 2017

Sheffield's top prestige car dealership will have the chance to become the nation's best at a leading industry awards ceremony.

John Holland, based on Meadowhall Road in Sheffield, has been shortlisted in the Used Car Retailer of the Year category at the forthcoming Motor Trader Industry Awards 2017. The shortlisting comes two years after the company was crowned Dealer's Dealer of the Year at the 2014/15 Car Dealer Magazine Awards, and was highly commended in the Used Car Retailer of the Year category at the 2015 Motor Trader Awards. The family-run firm has also been named Sheffield's best retailer for two years running at the regional Motor Trading Standards awards. A roving judge from Motor Trader has visited the John Holland showroom and will report back his findings to the full panel of judges, before the winners are announced at the Motor Trader Awards gala dinner at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London's West End on July 12. Winners in more than 20 categories will be announced at the ceremony, which recognises the nation's best used car dealerships. Mark Holland, managing director of John Holland, said: -We're extremely pleased to have been nominated for this year's Motor Trader Awards. -This nomination comes as a result of the incredible work of our fantastic team. We're hoping we can go one better than in 2015, when we were Highly Commended in the same category. Next stop, London! Curtis Hutchinson, editor of Motor Trader Magazine, said: -The Motor Trader Awards are widely regarded as the motoring industry's Oscars, and have been running for more than 25 years. -The Used Car Retailer of the Year Award looks for a dealership which is professionally managed, is profitable and shows evidence of increasing stock turnover and bottom-line profit while also satisfying its customers' needs. -I'd like to wish the best of luck to all shortlisted businesses.
