Lifeskills

26th February 2013

We've come a long way since 2002 when we first set up the business.

It all started when Spencer Fearn and Andrew Wright decided to tap into young talent by launching an innovative music and graphics programme. That was in our first home in the heart Bethnal Green. These days we still have a thriving centre there but we've expanded across the UK and now have Training Centres in Basildon, Peckham, Braintree, Lowestoft, Rotherham, Grays, Sheffield and a Head Office in Islington. And of course there's also our Leeds centre run by our sister company, Progressions UK. LifeSkills is about showing learners the way by giving them the tools they need to get the jobs they want. Our employment and apprenticeship learning programmes have been highly praised throughout the industry. We were awarded a Grade 2 from the Adult Learning Inspectorate in 2005 and 2009, with three Grades 1's (Outstanding) in Equality and Diversity, Leadership and Management and Capacity to Improve. In 2009 and 2010 we received consecutive top 50 placings in The Sunday Times list of Best Small Companies to Work For, and we also received extraordinary status in the Best Companies awards. And because there's nothing wrong with blowing your own trumpet from time to time, here's some other achievements we're really proud of: LifeSkills have been the Number 1 Foundation Learning Provider in both Essex and London for the past 3 years 79% of young people on our London courses went into a Job, Apprenticeship or College Our Apprenticeship and Train to Gain team was the best performing provider in Essex and London. 94% of Train to Gain learners achieved a NVQ Level 2 with LifeSkills. We now cater for over 1000 learners on a variety of different programmes. And even though we've expanded at a rapid rate, the quality of our learning has never been compromised. We always put the learners first and give them the best possible support so they have the best possible chance to not only realise their potential, but exceed it. We are now looking for Companies in the South Yorkshire area that may be interested in taking an apprentice (or more) on board in any of the following areas, Business Administration, Customer Services, Sales/Telesales, Warehouse, Retail and Hospitality.  We can also offer the same qualifications to existing staff along with Team Leading and Management qualifications.  Contact Neil Wragg for more information on 0114 275 8821. Kind Regards Neil
