Live the dream at Bramall Lane

Live your dream that's the message from Sheffield United who are giving football fans the unique chance to play on the pitch at the Club's Bramall Lane stadium.

The Blades are repeating their popular initiative at the end of the season, encouraging fans businesses and local teams and groups of friends to take part in an unique game. It will be an opportunity to enjoy the full match day experience at one of the best-known grounds in the world. Teams will get to play a 90-minute match, have access to Bramall Lane's match day facilities including the use of the dressing rooms and walking out of the players' tunnel. In addition, referees, stewards and safety officers will be provided. The club's big screen will be in operation as well as the PA system to help give players a real matchday experience. Each team will be given two complimentary footballs as souvenirs. The matches will be held across eight dates with three time slots per day. Fans can play on the following days: 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, 24, 30th, 31st May and 1st June at the following times; 10am 1pm (kick off at 10.10), 2pm to 5pm (kick off at 2.30pm), and 6pm to 9:30pm (kick off at 7pm). Additional dates may be available on request. Dave McCarthy, Operations Director at Sheffield United, said: "-For businesses based in Sheffield and Blades fans across the country, this presents the chance to realise a childhood dream of playing on the same hallowed turf as some of their heroes, both present and past. -Once again, we are proud to offer this unique opportunity to play at Bramall Lane and I'm hoping that businesses, teams and other groups will make the most of it. -Bramall Lane is the world's oldest professional football ground in continuous use and the chance to play here is one that I'm sure, like in previous seasons, will be snapped up by businesses across the region and beyond. Tan Khan, Regional Director with Sheffield-based Monaghans and who played last year, said: -We were extremely grateful to Sheffield United for providing superb facilities for our game in the Bramall Lane pitch. All our colleagues had a very special day starting from the changing rooms, out on to the brilliant pitch and playing under floodlights was a memorable experience. Luke Wade, First Line Manager, Knowhow Customer Contact Centre, said: -Overall the evening what an amazing experience, giving us all at Knowhow the chance to play football somewhere we have always dreamed of. Spectators will be given free admission to all the fan fixtures. Prices range from £1,850 to £2,495 per match. Substantial early bird discounts are available for fans who book before 29 March. The playing slots are limited and will be awarded on a first come first served basis, with a maximum of 18 players per squad. A deposit of £150 is required to secure the booking with the full balance due 21 days before the game. Sheffield United reserves the right to re-arrange any of the dates due to first-team/stadium commitments.
