Liverpool shirt just for Jacob

29th May 2018

A lifelong Liverpool FC supporter has had his football shirt signed by the team, thanks to Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice and the premier league club.

Unknown to 20-year-old Jacob Soar, who lives with his family in Walkeringham, near Gainsborough, the charity arranged for his Liverpool FC shirt to be signed by the team's players. Jacob has a number of life-threatening conditions and has been going to Bluebell Wood for short breaks for several years. When one of the care team, Bluebell Wood support worker Anna Clark, found out Jacob was a Liverpool supporter, she was determined to help get him a signed shirt. Jacob's mum Amanda said: -Jacob's dad is a big fan of Liverpool, which is why Jacob is such a fan. In 2011, we went to the ground when Roy Hodgson was the manager. Jacob was one of the first very seriously disabled children to go, and we had a fantastic time. -I found out that Liverpool FC had offered to sign a shirt for Jacob when we came for a short stay at Bluebell Wood a few months ago. When we got the shirt, I hung it up in the kitchen straight away for everyone to see when they came home. Catherine Jackson, Care Team Manager, Bluebell Wood, said: -At Bluebell Wood we really want to create special memories for our children and young adults, so when Anna found out that Jacob was a massive Liverpool FC supporter she really wanted to get him some signed merchandise. The club kindly offered to get his shirt signed, so we arranged with Amanda to send it off to them. -We'd like to say a big thank you to Liverpool FC for doing this and creating a fantastic memory for Jacob and his family.
