Local Charity Benefits From Business Donation

2nd August 2018

A charity that supports old people in the Sheffield community has received a much needed donation from organisations attending the recent charity hub event which was held at Jury's Inn.

Sheffield Churches Council for Community Care (SCCCC) were presented with a cheque for £220 by bid and tender writing specialists, FCS Associates, who host regular events in Sheffield for local charities and third sector organisations. These events help delegates to learn more about how to find and apply for grant funding. At each event attendees are charged a nominal registration fee which is all donated to the winning charity. Rachel Fletcher, Managing Director at FCS Associates explains -We provide the Charity Hub events to help local charities and third sector organisations find out more about bidding for grant funding which is often vital to the sustainability of a charity. We charge a nominal registration fee and then give this to a chosen charity in this case SCCCC who are a very worthy local cause. SCCCC were established over 50 years ago and have been providing services to support older people, their carers and families in the Sheffield community. Their programmes include the Good Neighbour Scheme which helps to combat loneliness and their Hospital Aftercare Programme which helps older people get back to normal life after a stay in one of the city's hospitals. Mark Storey, CEO at SCCCC explains -it's great to receive contributions like this from the local community which help us to continue to provide our services to the older community in Sheffield. FCS Associates are also taking applications to be their charity of the year. The winning charity will receive a package of grant application support worth over £3000. Applications close on 21st August. Entrants can apply at www.fcsassociates.co.uk The next Charity Hub event will be in October. For more information visit www.fcsassociates.co.uk
