Loneliness Charity Breaks The Silence With Disco

13th May 2024

Sheffield charity, SCCCC, is hosting a Silent Disco in June, to raise awareness of isolation and loneliness amongst older people and they want you to join them.

Many isolated older people can go for days or weeks without speaking to another person. The silence can be deafening. With loneliness being as harmful to health as smoking, local older people's charity Sheffield Churches Council for Community Care (SCCCC) knows first-hand the impact loneliness makes on the health and well-being of isolated people, so came up with the idea of hosting a Silent Disco to raise funds.

The Silent Disco will be held at Yellow Arch Studios on Saturday 8th June and will host two sessions, a daytime one for those wanting to be in their PJs by 7 pm and an evening session for those divas who like to dance the night away.  The State-of-the-art LED light-up headsets have 3 channels of music to choose from including 70s, 80s and 90s hits.

Tickets are available online (includes a small booking fee)
