Louise grew up in the Peak District and now lives on the south-west side of Sheffield within easy reach of the local moors and edges.

She has 'played outdoors' since childhood and loves nothing more than a walk along the gritstone edges with her dog. Artists never stop observing and it is on these walks that Louise draws inspiration for her paintings. She captures the transience of plant life as the seasons change with exquisite detail, drawing attention to that which we may otherwise overlook. Louise has been awarded a Royal Horticultural Society Gold Medal (2014) for her 'Ophrys of Menorca' collection. She was also awarded RHS Best Exhibit and RHS Gold Medal (2012) for her series of drawings 'Native Ferns of the Peak District'. She has work in the RHS Lindley Library, London and in numerous private collections. RHS Best Exhibit and Gold Medal in 2012 - 'Ferns of the Peak District' RHS Gold Medal in 2014 - 'Ophrys of Menorca' This year Louise has been focusing on her forthcoming exhibition 'Blooming Wonderful', a collection of watercolor paintings that have been inspired by plant life observed during walks with her faithful companion Mut. This new collection of original paintings will be exhibited at an open event. All artwork will be available to purchase in addition to limited edition prints, calendars and cards.
