Magna shortlisted for two prestigious event industry awards

21st May 2018

Magna have been shortlisted for two highly prestigious CHS Awards, one for Best Unusual Event Space and one for Best Launch Event.

Now in its fourth year, the CHS Awards are widely recognised as one of the highest accolades for the hospitality and events industry. Aimed at showcasing the very best in class of all types of hotels and venues recognising a particular aspect, service or feature of their property or service. With hundreds of entries, the awards are judged by an independent panel of over 70 event professionals from leading agencies throughout the UK. The Best Unusual Event Space shortlisting is in recognition of Magna's multi-storey, multi-media and multi-purpose Face of Steel which over the past 12 months alone has played host to a car launch, numerous music concerts, exhibitions, dinners, the World's highest indoor bungee jump and a Victorian themed carousel. For the Best Launch Event shortlisting the judges were wowed by Magna's work with Kia Motors in October 2017 to launch their brand new Stonic car range to their customer facing sales team. The week-long series of events were themed around a 'Revolution' within the car industry and customer engagement and used a variety of event spaces both inside and outside of the extensive Magna estate. Magna Chief Executive Kevin Tomlinson said, 'We are genuinely honoured to be shortlisted for two of the most highly regarded awards in the events and hospitality industry, judged by 70 of the best agency professionals. It is the well-earned recognition for the entire Magna team, for whom I am immensely proud.' Magna boasts 4,000m2 of pure event space located in the heart of the UK close to both Sheffield and Rotherham. Perfect for big and small events; a meeting for 30, dinner or conference for 400 or exclusive hire for 5,000. With 400 free car parking spaces, dedicated events team, on-site catering and in-house AV and exhibition services. There's even in-house team building activities including a giant 25m long inflatable bootcamp, 40m high indoor bungee and life-size diggers. The glittering CHS Awards ceremony will take place on Thursday 31 May in Manchester.
