Makaton Taster Session

Makaton is a language programme using signs and symbols to help people with learning difficulties communicate effectively.

The Makaton Language Programme uses a structured approach involving a combination of speech, signs and graphic symbols. This taster session will begin with a practical activity involving non-verbal communication. You will then be given information about what Makaton signing is and how the sytem works. You will learn 30-40 common signs by the end of this session and use role play activities to practise conversational use. The session will run from 10am-12pm, complimentary refreshments will be available throughout the session.
