'Making the Cash Flow' in partnership with the Office of the Small Business Commissioner

12th August 2020

Sheffield Chamber of Commerce was pleased to be able to partner with the Office of the Small Business Commissioner on the delivery of a webinar titled ‘Making the Cash Flow’.

Sheffield Chamber Members were joined by the Small Business Commissioner, Phillip King where he outlined the role and remit of the office. The Small Business Commissioner was appointed as part of a range of measures implemented by HM Government as part of the Enterprise Act 2016 to tackle late payment, non-payment and unfavourable payment practice in the private sector.

Sheffield Chamber of Commerce Interim General Manager, Tom Sutton said

"We were pleased to be able to partner with Mr King and the Office of the Small Business Commissioner to deliver a webinar that focussed on practical support.

"As a business support organisation we recognise the importance of receiving payments in a timely manner. Late payments for small businesses can have an extremely detrimental impact on cashflow and the ability or confidence to make decisions is then effected. We were keen to retain the dialogue with Mr King’s office and since then we’ve been sent several useful documents to highlight to our members and remind them of the remit and support available by the Small Business Commissioner.”
