Maple Syrup Media looks to Yorkshire Roots for New Sheffield Home

30th September 2016

Maple Syrup Media group, Europe's leading cashback and rewards network, has chosen to continue its rapid expansion plans for UK based consumer business Quidco with brand new premises in Sheffield.

Quidco, the UK's leading cashback platform, was co-founded by Paul and Jennifer Nikkel in 2005 whilst they were studying at the University of Sheffield, and alongside this brand new customer and marketing hub, the group retains a London office on the Silicon Roundabout in Shoreditch. Maple Syrup Media (MSM) has taken an 8,750 sq ft first floor office at Fountain Precinct in Sheffield in anticipation of the group's rapid growth plans, almost trebling its current 3,000 sq ft premises in the city with the help of the Sheffield office of Knight Frank. Dominic Butterell, Customer Services Director, said: -MSM has has grown rapidly over the last few years.  We looked back to our Yorkshire roots for our new, bigger premises as it is such a high-value location that is fantastic value for money. -Fountain Precinct offers spacious, contemporary, high specification accommodation that would be on the wish list for any business of our size. It is ideally situated within the heart of Sheffield city centre close to its main retail and business core. Peter Whiteley, Head of Office at Knight Frank in Sheffield commented: -Maple Syrup Media was looking for a premises that offered a central location and a single, open plan floorplate capable of meeting its expansion plans. Sheffield's Fountain Precinct on Balm Green provided this, along with a quality and cost effective staffing solution. Quidco.com, the first cashback service launched, was created in 2005 with the initial objective of creating a community for helping students save money shopping online. Over the last decade, the UK core business has evolved and the website now serves close seven million members, working with 4300 of the biggest names on the high street and in e-commerce. Quidco's holding group, Maple Syrup Media, also has cashback and loyalty platforms in Germany and France as well as a specialist UK travel solution, Earnaway. Existing tenants in the newly refurbished eight-storey Fountain Precinct which totals approximately 112,000 sq ft, include Knight Frank, AON, Rider Levett Bucknall and numerous legal and property based businesses.
