Marathon Entrants in the Running for Top Gym Prize

City runners are in with a chance of winning a top fitness prize to help them prepare for one of Sheffield's biggest sporting events - the SIG Insulation Sheffield Half Marathon.

  Fitness Unlimited is giving away a three-month membership to the lucky runner who enters the SIG Insulation Sheffield Half Marathon before Monday, January 6 runners who have already signed up to the race are also in with a chance of winning the gym prize.   Runners are being encouraged to visit the marathon's Facebook and Twitter pages to find out more on how to win the prize - which gives access to gym facilities at seven fitness facilities across Sheffield.   The SIG Insulation Sheffield Half Marathon, which is taking place next year on Sunday 6 April at Don Valley Bowl, is now open for entry.   The 13.1 mile race is one of the biggest road races in the Sheffield sporting calendar and attracts runners of all ages and abilities from across the country to compete, and for the first time will start and finish at Don Valley Bowl.   Margaret Lilley, the Sheffield Half Marathon chairman, said: -We are so excited that Fitness Unlimited is giving away such a fantastic prize. Many of our runners use the facilities provided by Fitness Unlimited so I'm sure the competition will be popular! We're really excited for next year's race and we hope many people will be signing up over Christmas and New Year.   Fitness Unlimited is managed by Sheffield International Venues Ltd (SIV) and offers access to seven facilities including Ponds Forge International Sports Centre, The English Institute of Sport Sheffield and Hillsborough Leisure Centre, providing fitness for all at affordable prices.   Peter Clark, Corporate Health and Fitness Manager at Fitness Unlimited, said: -The SIG Insulation Sheffield Half Marathon is a fantastic event for the city and we are excited to be teaming up with the race for this competition.
