Sheffield City Region are rallying together to support Cavendish Cancer Care through The Master Cutler’s Challenge.

Sheffield City Region are rallying together to support Cavendish Cancer Care through The Master Cutler’s Challenge. Businesses came together at the launch of the Challenge at Cutlers’ Hall on the 9th March, where they were inspired to kickstart their fundraising by the Master and Mistress Cutler, James and Jo Tear.

The Master Cutlers Challenge, first launched in 2008, has become one of the largest annual fundraising events in the region. Over the years, the Challenge has inspired companies, organisations, schools and individuals to raise in excess of half a million pounds for local causes.

This year, Master Cutler, James Tear of The Solpro Group, leads the challenge and he has been a member of the Company of Cutlers for over 17 years. The Master and Mistress Cutler have chosen to support Cavendish Cancer Care through the challenge and raise awareness during their year in office.

Master Cutler, James Tear, says

“We are calling on all businesses to get involved with the challenge this year. We are delighted to support such an incredible charity based here in Sheffield, who support local families affected by cancer. We all know that the impact of a diagnosis ripples through family, friends and colleagues. To have a charity providing a lifeline to all those who turn to them is a true asset in our region.”

The accumulator style campaign sees businesses; organisations and membership groups grow a £50 seed fund, as much as possible in 6 months. Through the years, there have been some memorable events such as DLA Piper’s Monopoly Event and Hart Shaw’s Kidnap Challenge as well as a mix of bake sales, sponsored challenges, wine tastings and quiz nights.

Cavendish Cancer Care are there for anyone who is affected by cancer, by offering packages of care to support your emotional and physical wellbeing at a time when your life has been thrown upside down. We provide one to one, free of charge, therapies as well as a number of online groups and courses so that every client we see has an individually tailored package that is right for them.
