Master Cutler’s Challenge kicks off in aid of our ‘see it. treat it.’ appeal

Funds raised through this year’s entrepreneurial challenge will help to secure an MRI Simulator for Weston Park Cancer Centre.

Yesterday marked the official start of the 2026 Master Cutler’s Challenge, which is raising vital funds for our ‘see it. treat it.’ MRI Simulator Appeal.

At the event, teams heard from Master and Mistress Cutler, Professor Keith Jackson and Dr Gina Jackson – who are both huge advocates of our work.

We’re extremely grateful for their support and can’t wait to see how this year’s participants will use their £50 of seed funding!

Here’s how the challenge works:

Seed funding: Individuals and teams from businesses, schools and organisations receive £50 of seed funding from the Master Cutler.

Brainstorming: Teams get together to decide how to use their seed funding. Previously, teams have organised tuck shops, raffles, quiz nights, active challenges, balls, and more!

Start fundraising: Teams have until September to raise as much money as they can, to help local people impacted by cancer.

There’s still time to sign up for the 2026 Master Cutler’s Challenge, and plenty of fundraising materials available to get you started.

This finale of this year’s challenge will mark the official end of our ‘see it. treat it.’ appeal – which seeks to raise £1.85 million for an MRI simulator cancer scanning machine.

This powerful tool will enable clinicals to more accurately plan and deliver radiotherapy – which will reduce side effects and boost survival rates in our region.

Master and Mistress Cutler, Professor Keith and Dr Gina Jackson, said:

With so many fantastic schools, organisations, and businesses already signed up – this year’s challenge promises to be one for the history books.”
