Mercury makes more marketing appointments

30th March 2015

Mercury Taxis have a new marketing team.

Marketing executive Claire Thompson has been promoted to marketing manager and Dawn Goodwin has taken on Claire's role. Proud Geordie Claire previously worked for Northern Rock for ten years starting as a customer service advisor in the mortgage department and became a qualified Mortgage advisor. Several customer care awards led to Claire becoming their customer contact manager in charge of resolving complaints. Claire says, -I have been with Mercury for the past six years, starting in the call centre whilst my kids were babies and then promoted to marketing executive then manager at Christmas. We are filled with exciting fresh ideas with our main ethos being on building relationships with our current and potential clients. We are using social media to interact and promote not only with the general public but the businesses of Sheffield. We want to be seen and heard- not only in the local press, radio and TV ads, but as Sheffield's only family taxi company, we want to be face to face with our customers in the community and we want them to feel they can come to us. Dawn adds, -My role is to keep the presence of Mercury Taxis up in Sheffield, from giving out our 'offers card' keyrings from great local businesses to providing ashtrays for the city's pubs and clubs. My previous jobs at The Star and for The Student Magazine have provided invaluable experience. Dermot Griffiths, general manager of Mercury Taxis is delighted with his new team. -Not only will Claire and Dawn be promoting businesses through our offers card, they will also be taking a lead role in coordinating three big fundraisers for our charity of the year, St Luke's Hospice, a cause close to our heart who help people right across the region. Last year, as a company last year we raised over £10,000 and with this team's help, we hope to break last year's record at our ever-popular annual Golf Day in August. www.mercurytaxis.com 0114 266 2662
