Mums In Need announce latest charity partnership with SWFCwsg

8th August 2023

Domestic abuse charity Mums In Need, start a new partnership with the Sheffield Wednesday Football Club Women's Supporters Group. The group is supporting the charity to raise well needed funds and awareness to help to confront coercive control.

About Mums In Need
Mums In Need is a Sheffield based charity that works on confronting coercive control. We provide support for mums in Sheffield and surrounding areas who have left emotionally abusive relationships with the parent of their children and are looking for support to rebuild their lives.

The Charity Partnership
On the 2nd August we were invited to attend a Consultation event hosted by the Sheffield Wednesday Football Club Women's Supporters Group, at the Sheffield Wednesday football stadium.

The supporters group officially introduced Mums In Need as their chosen charity of the year.  We are absolutely thrilled to be working with the group, and look forward to seeing their big plans to help raise awareness and funds for the charity.

The First Steps
The group has already started their fundraising efforts for MIN.
They have joined MIN on our mission to raise £20,000 throughout 2023 in our ‘£2023 in 2023 for MIN’ fundraiser.
In less than one week, they have raised over £600 in funds and the number keeps growing. They have already raised enough funds to support twelve of our mums with a 1:1 counselling session.
