National Business Response Network - have you any requests or offers of support?

7th July 2020

The National Business Response Network (NRBN) was launched in April by Business in the Community (BITC), a charity and part of The Prince’s Responsible Business Network with over 750 member companies.

The network focuses its activity on four key areas helping communities navigate their way through the coronavirus pandemic:

  1. Food: Ensuring people have continued access to food
  2. Technology: Support to enable children to continue learning, and older people to stay connected to families
  3. Community support: Support to vulnerable groups and older people to enable continued access to food, healthcare, social interaction and other essentials
  4. Small businesses: Creating resources with advice and practical tools specifically for small businesses; providing business continuity and wellbeing support through mentoring for small businesses

To date the network have made 1500 matches.

The BITC have worked closely with South Yorkshire Chamber to ensure local charities and communities have benefited from the NRBN donations, particularly the gifting of food.

In May NRBN received 8 tonnes of cereal and chocolate gifted from Nestle, 180 boxes of Mcvities cereal bars and last week Gregg's kindly donated 4 pallets containing crisps and orange juice. These have been distributed to over 25 charities/community groups in Sheffield and 30 in Doncaster.

Check out the attached file, which provides further examples of the amazing connections and contributions that the NBRN has brought about!
