Naylor Industries Shines at Get Up to Speed Event, Inspiring Future Talent

16th April 2024

Naylor Industries, a fourth-generation family business renowned for its excellence in the manufacturing industry, made waves at the recent Get Up to Speed event, held in collaboration with Workwise at Magna Science Adventure Centre on March 20th.

This event, aimed at connecting students with potential career opportunities, saw over 5000 enthusiastic attendees seeking insights into various professions.

One of the highlights of the event was Naylor showcasing not only their commitment to nurturing young talent but also offering a glimpse into the exciting career prospects within the company and how STEM connects with the business.  A team of apprentices from Naylor enthusiastically represented the company, engaging with students and shedding light on the diverse range of career paths available.

Central to Naylor's presence was the innovative use of Virtual Reality (VR) technology. Attendees were treated to a unique virtual experience, immersing them in the daily operations of Naylor's manufacturing facilities. Through carefully curated VR videos, students witnessed firsthand the intricacies of machinery repair, tooling changes on plastic extrusion machines, and other essential tasks integral to the manufacturing process.

The feedback from students was overwhelmingly positive, hearing phrases like "hey, this is so cool" and "wow" underscored the effectiveness of Naylor's approach in providing a realistic and captivating glimpse into the world of manufacturing.
