Explore the dark world of Magna; while on the steel tour keep a look out for the spotlights on the main walkways. Move around them and uncover the hidden targets, songs, stories and the sounds of the old steel industry. Find out more about the rich history and heritage of Magna with a guided Steel Tour with an ex steel worker who will bring history to life! Magna was first formed to produce steel for ammunition and helmets during WW1 and went on to employ over 10,000 people in it's hey day becoming the very heart of South Yorkshire's steel industry! Experience 'The Big Melt', which uses original electric furnaces to create an impressive and powerful re-creation of the steel making process present in the days of Sheffield as a booming steel industry.
