Neurocare is a ground-breaking local charity which raises money to buy life-saving equipment for use in the Neuro theatres of Sheffield's Royal Hallamshire Hospital.

We are looking to build links with local companies who, like us, are interested in seeing Sheffield thrive. There are many ways your company could get involved, for instance, selecting us as your Charity of the Year, sponsoring an event, making regular donations, or helping us to raise our profile in the local community The Neurosciences Department of the Royal Hallamshire hospital has a local catchment area which covers a population of about 2.5 million. Patients are treated for a wide range of Neurological conditions such as Brain Tumours, Head Injuries, Diseases of the Nervous System, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease, Motor Neurone Disease, Alzheimer's Disease, Epilepsy, Cancers of the Nervous System and Strokes. Neurocare aims to help make the Neurosciences Department at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital the best in the UK, in terms of both equipment and the facilities available for patients and their families. Neurocare also fund research projects and specialist training so that people suffering from Neurological conditions can receive the best care available. Each year, the Neurocare team organise various fundraising events which pay for these innovations in medical care and equipment. Our current projects include: a Bone Scalpel surgical tool that has been hailed by surgeons as one of the most important advances in spinal surgery in the last few years, a Counselling Room for the neuro-intensive care ward, so that the relatives of patients have a quiet, private space to hear about their loved ones condition, an Actigraphy Recording System which will be an addition to our previously funded Sleep Laboratory project, and two research projects; one on the Cause and Treatment of Motor Neurone Disease, and another into Functional Symptoms. To find out more about these projects, or to learn about projects that we have previously funded, please check out our website: If you are interested in finding out more about our work, or think that your company might be able to support us in some way then please do get in touch with, or call the office on 0114 267 6464. Thanks!
