New partnership providing risk advice and support for international trade

4th June 2014

An international insurance broker has joined forces with South Yorkshire International Trade Centre (SYITC) to encourage increased exporting activity.

Finch Insurance Brokers is the latest professional services company to become a partner with SYITC providing advice and support to business across Sheffield City Region on international trade. The company, which has offices in Sheffield, Halifax and Manchester, is part of the Worldwide Broker Network and specialises in providing access to pre-approved partners around the globe, who offer local representation to businesses with overseas exposure. Services available include UK covers to protect an exporting operation to offering a 'global' solution for organisations that need to protect international liabilities and assets. Chris Finch, head of office Sheffield at Finch Insurance, said: -It is important that all aspects of risk are fully investigated before making the leap into international trade and our prime role is to ensure that insurance programmes are put into place that are globally compliant and respond to our clients' needs. -Combined with the other service providers that are available via SYITC, support and guidance is available to businesses right on their doorstep and we are pleased to become a partner to offer assistance on all areas of insurance. Finch Insurance joins lawyers Hill Dickinson, Good Travel Management, Sheffield International Freight Terminal, freight management business 512 (Sheffield) and chartered accountants UHY Hacker Young as partners of SYITC. Nick Patrick, international trade manager at SYITC, added: -Finch Insurance Brokers is very knowledgeable about exporting and has an array of contacts for businesses to utilise. Many local companies are taking their first steps into trading overseas and need advice on all the steps involved to make sure they benefit fully from that expansion. -Many countries around the world will have the same insurance requirements as in the UK. However, each country will have individual rules and regulations which need to be adhered to in order to avoid huge fines. -With the professional support services we now have in place with key international trade related businesses, SYITC is able to guide a business through this path successfully. -Whether it be tax, legal, documentation, travel, shipping or insurance related enquiries we have knowledgeable assistance available.
