Northbank Pulls in Lettings

12th December 2014

Sheffield, UK Sheffield's premier riverside office building has seen a staggering 25,500 sq ft of lettings in the last 6 months.

Following the ten-year letting of 14,000 sq ft of Grade A office space at Sheffield's Northbank riverside offices to XLN Telecomms, the state-of-the-art building has attracted Instant Offices as tenant claiming another 11,500 sq ft of lettings. The 62,000 sq ft building at Blonk Street, adjacent to the River Don, is now fully let across floors one, three and four with only 24,000 sq ft left available, according to the Sheffield office of Knight Frank, which is marketing the building. Peter Whiteley, partner at the Knight Frank, said: -The letting of so much space at Northbank is a clear indication of the value that Grade A office space in close proximity to Sheffield's city centre has for businesses which require the best accommodation. XLN Telecomms' take up of Northbank's entire 14,000 sq ft third floor was quickly followed by the letting of 11,500 sq ft on floor one to Instant Offices. The 12,000 sq ft fourth floor is already home to BDP Architects. We now only have the second floor and ground floor available totalling 24,000 sq ft. Northbank is a stunning building and its location close by the River Don makes it a very good proposition, with fast access to the city centre, Midland Mainline train station and superb motorway links via the Parkway out to the M1. We are seeing further interest in the building, so it may not be long before we make a further announcement. As Grade A stocks across the city dwindle, this opens up the possibility for hardening of incentives on remaining accommodation. Northbank was originally developed by Priority Sites and Knight Frank is acting for the current managing agent, Commercial Estates Group. Antonia Martin-Wright from Commercial Estates Group, said: -We are pleased to have attracted both XLN and Instant Offices to 1 Northbank. This is a well located city centre office building and is in demand with occupiers requiring Grade A offices in Sheffield.
