Olmec helps Renualt captur a new market

10th July 2013

Almost three quarters of a million people will have seen Renault's 'Captur' concept car when it was unveiled at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, and thousands more will have admired it in top motoring media, such as Top Gear.

Everyone wowed at its funky, chunky looks, its innovativeness, style and curvy lines all beautifully enhanced by electroluminescent lighting (EL) supplied by Sheffield's lighting specialists, Olmec/Surelight. Well, as its strapline says, Renault is now 'heading for adventure', and helped along by clever advertising using Olmec/Surelight's advanced lighting effects, the Captur is no longer a concept. Expanding into new territory, albeit without Olmec/Surelight's innovative enhancement lighting, Renault has now put its compact crossover on sale. It's not the first time that Olmec/Surelight has helped car manufacturers to light up amazing concept cars with its EL products. It was also responsible for the state of the art interior lighting in, what has been described as one of the most beautiful cars in the world, Jaguar's C-X75 concept car. The same EL products were used by Toyota in its 'Get your Energy Back' advert for the Auris Hybrid. Whilst Olmec/Surelight's low energy EL products are also used to light number panels on race cars at Le Mans and other prestigious endurance races, they are not only used by the motoring fraternity. They are used in a wide variety of applications to create stunning effects and have been responsible for spectacular lighting shows for the likes of Kylie, Coldplay, Sophie Ellis Bexter, Chris Rea and Franz Ferdinand. Versatile electroluminescent wires, panels and other products have also been used in major TV programmes such as American Idol, Britain's got Talent, Dr Who, Big Brother and Wallace and Gromit. In fact, the sky's the limit when it comes to using EL products. Pop stars, film stars, racing drivers, businesses and individuals alike if innovative, creative, stunning or spectacular effect is the requirement; whether in architecture & design, entertainment, automotive lighting, safety & emergency lighting, toys, clothing, costume design, signage, retail display, point of sale etc. Olmec/Surelight electroluminescent products are the solution!
