We are thrilled to announce that our HR consultant at OneSource HR has recently qualified as an accredited trainer in several unique and critical areas, enabling us to deliver advanced CPD accredited training to SME's in Yorkshire.

Our HR Consultant and Managing Director, Chloe Wallace, qualified as a trainer in The Psychology of Victim Blaming and Self Blame, and Exploring Trauma Informed Practice and Theory. This achievement comes after extensive advanced CPD accredited training with VictimFocus, the UK's leading and globally operating company specialising in trauma-informed training, research and consultancy.

The Psychology of Victim Blaming is particularly pertinent for employers in light of the forthcoming Prevention of Sexual Harassment employment legislation set to take effect in October 2024. This new law mandates that employers must implement robust measures to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace. Understanding the psychology behind victim blaming is crucial for creating a safe and supportive environment for all employees. It helps to dismantle harmful myths and biases that can hinder the reporting and resolution of harassment cases, which can cost employers not only thousands, but their reputation too. Our accredited trainer is uniquely positioned to provide expert training in this area, ensuring that your organisation not only complies with the new legislation but also fosters a culture of respect and empathy.

Founder and Managing Director Chloe Wallace, said "by taking steps to improve workplace culture, we can reduce instances of sexual harassment and make the workplace better overall for women and other minorities. All types of discrimination and harassment usually happen when there is  a poor workplace culture, that allows it, or turns a blind eye".

Trauma Informed Practice is another vital area of expertise that OneSource HR brings to the table. This approach is essential for addressing issues related to sexual harassment and safeguarding against claims, where costs are typically added to compensation awards running in to many thousands, for injury to feelings.

This training is more relevant than ever in light of the UK’s heightened focus and need to prevent violence against women and girls, and the upcoming employment legislation on prevention of sexual harassment.

Remember anyone can be a victim or a perpetrator of sexual violence/ harassment.

Recent incidents reported in employment law, and in our wider communities have underscored the urgency of addressing these issues, highlighting the pervasive nature of gender-based violence and the critical need for comprehensive support systems. This new qualification equips us with the expertise to help organisations understand the deep psychological impacts and roots of victim blaming, and to implement trauma-informed practices that have many benefits for the employer value proposition and corporate social responsibility.

With five generations currently present in the workforce, it is more important than ever to understand and address the diverse needs and experiences of all employees. A trauma-informed workplace promotes mental health, reduces turnover, and enhances productivity by acknowledging and addressing the impacts of trauma on individuals. Our training sessions will equip your organisation with the knowledge and tools to implement practices effectively.

Chloe commented, "regular and robust training on employee behaviours and conduct regarding sexual harassment is an essential step under new legislation. It helps reduce risks for employers and safeguards against instances and claims, which can easily run in to the hundreds of thousands".

At OneSource HR, we are committed to supporting organisations in navigating these complex and sensitive issues. Our advanced training services are designed to help you create a safer, more inclusive, and more productive workplace. Our training sessions can be tailored to be delivered to HR professionals in your workforce, your line management and leadership teams, and the general employee population.
