Owlerton Stadium set the precedent for Greyhound racing, with the unveiling of their complete racetrack replacement.

A&S Leisure Group are pleased to announce the reopening of Owlerton Stadium after undergoing a complete racetrack replacement. The track was officially reopened on Tuesday 2nd August receiving a warm welcome from spectators on a packed-out first night.

The track was officially reopened on Tuesday 2nd August by Andrew Mascarenhas, Director of Racing. The track upgrades received a warm welcome from spectators, with the team enjoying a packed-out stadium on its first night after reopening for business.

The £400,000 investment into the stadium's sand profiles, drainage and equipment is a huge step forwards in the development of the venue. The changes are a continuation of the commitment toward the safety and welfare of the greyhounds. Since its first race in 1932, Owlerton Stadium has stood at the heart of racing. The venue hosts over 250 races a year including greyhound racing, speedway, stock car racing and many other special events. As one of the best dog tracks in the UK, the renovations are a direct celebration of the success of the Hillsborough venue. 

Owlerton Stadium prides itself on being among the best in the industry when it comes to quality and hospitality. These values have been reflected in the recently completed track upgrades which continue to open new doors for the future of racing. The enhancements to the track's surface and surroundings create consistency on the bends and overall circuit, overcoming the limitations of the sport. We hope that the significant investment in Yorkshire's top greyhound track will increase support from both new and seasoned visitors for many years to come.

The stadium will reopen to the public on Tuesday 2nd of August 2022 for a night of exhilarating racing action.
