Pegl Staff Set For Three Peaks Charity Challange

8th May 2015

Two employees of Sheffield-based President Engineering Group (PEGL) are preparing to take part in a national Three Peaks Challenge for the second year running, on behalf of the Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research Charity.

John Waddington, operations director at PEGL, and Chris Brown, manufacturing manager at PEGL, will be joined by Darrell Fone from Exel Computer Systems, PEGL's long-standing Enterprise Resource Planning system provider. The trio will take on the Three Peaks Challenge, for which they are seeking sponsorship, on Saturday 9th May and Sunday 9th May, starting at Ben Nevis, then Scafell Pike and finally Snowdon in Wales. They completed a practice climb of the challenge last weekend; climbing Tryfan and the Glyders in Snowdonia National Park. John Waddington and Chris Brown both took part in the company's Three Peaks Challenge last year, which saw nine members of staff complete the hike within 24 hours, raising over £3,200 for charity. The challenge is being supported by Sheffield-based Arrow Self Drive through the hire of one of their minibuses. John Waddington, operations director at PEGL, said: -Myself and Chris are both very eager to get back onto the peaks and will be pushing to beat our time from last year. We are aiming to raise as much money as we can for the Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research Charity, so are hoping as many people as possible sponsor us. PEGL's staff have undertaken many charitable activities in the past, raising thousands of pounds for a variety of causes. The company's Pie Day, held at the company's head office in March, raised £200 for St. Luke's Hospice. The Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research Charity is dedicated to improving the lives of patients with all types of blood cancer, including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.
