PEUGEOT IN SHEFFIELD PUSHES FOR PUDSEY IN CHARITY DRIVE

Employees at two Sheffield Peugeot dealerships, Robins & Day on Penistone Road and Handsworth Road, will be hosting a 'big push' for charity from 7pm on Thursday 15th November until 7pm on Friday 16th November to raise money for Children in Need.

The challenge will see employees push a Peugeot 208 around Don Valley Stadium's 400m track 208 times in just 24 hours. The huge distance is the equivalent to two marathons or the distance from Sheffield toLincoln a staggering 52 miles. They will also be joined by members of the Sheffield Eagles Rugby League Team, fresh from being crowned Championship Champions, who will also help with the 'big push for Pudsey' at the stadium, which hosts the Eagles' home games. Organised and led by general sales manager, David Lee, the teams are calling out to the people ofSheffieldto come along to the fundraiser and cheer them on as they take on such a demanding physical feat. David said: -As far as we are aware, this type of endeavor has never been attempted before. Physically, it will be very demanding on all the volunteers taking part but we are ready to take on the challenge and by doing so, hope to raise a significant amount of money for Children in Need. -The charity is a very worthwhile cause, which helps disadvantaged children and young people across theUK, and the funds we raise from the event will help to make a real difference in our local community. The dealerships are also offering local businesses the chance to sponsor a 'spot' on the car - in return for a donation of £100 to Children in Need, the company will receive its name and logo on the car as it circles the stadium. Nicola Doherty, marketing manager at Don Valley Stadium, added: -We are very much looking forward to hosting the fundraiser. It will be incredibly challenging but we are confident that David and the teams can complete the 208 circuits, a total of 83,200 metres, in 24 hours. -We would like to encourage as many supporters fromSheffieldas possible to come along during the event and cheer on the brave volunteers, as they raise money for a very deserving charity. Children in Need funds over 2,500 projects across the country and supports causes in the local community.
