Race to Meadowhall as Welcome to Yorkshire Set Up in Centre

Pop up shop offers official Tour de France merchandise   A Tour de France Grand Depart pop up shop is set to open in Meadowhall Shopping Centre in the build up to the biggest cycling event in the world starting in Yorkshire in July.

  Fans of Le Tour will be able to purchase official merchandise including the new, limited edition cycling jersey, from a new pop up shop in-centre which will be open from May 31.   The pop up shop give fans a chance to immerse themselves in the world's greatest annual sporting event before the race begins. The shops will be decked out in yellow, green, white, and red polka dots to reflect the jerseys which are so hard fought over in July, and will also feature images of Tours past and present.   Visitors to the shops will find cycling jerseys, hoodies, t-shirts, caps, flasks, tote bags, mugs and even spokey dokies for your wheels, as well as the limited edition jersey.   Meadowhall's Events and Retail Promotions Manager, Alex Caley said: -We are delighted to be hosting the Welcome to Yorkshire pop up store, offering shoppers the chance to get into the spirit of this monumental sporting event.     -We hope that shoppers take this opportunity to come into the centre to get their hands on their very own little memento of Yorkshire sporting history. How great that everyone can come to spectate as the race passes Meadowhall in their very own Welcome to Yorkshire limited edition jersey.   -The Tour de France arriving in Sheffield is one of those once-in-a-lifetime opportunities so we are understandably excited to be working in partnership with Welcome to Yorkshire on this project, along with a host of other activities taking place in the lead up, culminating in a big finale with the Meadowhall Fan Fest event on the 6th July as the race passes by.   Gary Verity, Chief Executive of Welcome to Yorkshire, said: -It's so exciting to announce the launch this pop up shop in partnership with Meadowhall Shopping Centre, Sheffield.  Together we're taking, for the first time, official merchandise of the Tour and Grand Depart into one of Yorkshire's most iconic shopping centres.
