Racegoers win big with Owlerton Greyhound Stadium

22nd February 2018

Lucky racegoers have received a very late Christmas treat courtesy of Owlerton Greyhound Stadium.

Owlerton, based near Hillsborough, Sheffield, rewarded its loyal social media followers by giving away top hospitality prizes in a '12 Days of Christmas' social media competition held during the 2017 festive period. Entry required followers to like, comment and share on one of its 12 posts with the winners being picked at random the following day. Prizes varied from gift vouchers and trackside admission through to a meal for four at its Panorama restaurant and an executive box for 12 guests. Ryan Henger, from Foxhill, an administrator for Sheffield Developments LTD, won an executive box for 12 people. Ryan, 23, said: -I found out that I won on Boxing Day and I was surprised because I usually don't win things like this! -I wasn't sure what the prize would be, but when I found out it was an executive box I couldn't believe it. Thanks to Owlerton Stadium for making it possible. -I have been to Owlerton quite a few times and its always been a good night out- even better when you win! I can safely say I would recommend it to anyone and I'm not just saying that because I have won. Jenny Helliwell, a finance officer at the University of Sheffield, won a meal for four people. Rotherham-based Jenny, 32, said: -Winning was a nice surprise, I love entering competitions and we've been talking about how we haven't been for a while, I used to be a regular but with a one-year-old daughter it's been tricky to go. Dave Perry, general manager at Owlerton Stadium, said: -We're very proud of the range and value of our offering at Owlerton Stadium and with such a strong social media presence it seemed logical to reward our loyal followers. -We've enjoyed hosting Jenny and Ryan recently, as well as the other respective competition winners, and I'd urge others to look out for similar opportunities in the coming months.
