Rail congress proves prefect platform for Mechan

24th November 2015

Sheffield heavy lifting specialist, Mechan, is joining a select group of exhibitors at a global gathering of train operating companies in London next month.

The rail depot equipment manufacturer will be showcasing its product portfolio at this year's Rolling Stock Fleet Maintenance Cost Reduction Congress. Held at the Hilton, London Bankside on December 9 and 10, the conference attracts rail industry decision makers from as far afield as Japan, Italy and Morocco. It will focus on improving fleet reliability and availability by refining maintenance methods and safety at reduced cost. Sales engineers, Lee Pitts and Adam Elliot, will be demonstrating how Mechan is developing handling equipment that meets demand for faster maintenance times, without compromising safety. They will also introduce congress delegates to the European innovations for which the firm is the local representative, including the handheld laser measuring device, CALIPRI. Lee said: -This is our first appearance at the annual Cost Reduction Congress and we are looking forward to meeting key contacts from train operating companies worldwide. The two day event is focused on achieving best practice in fleet maintenance and as our products and services have such an important role to play in streamlining the process, we expect interest in them to be high.
