Rail sector must see real reform to improve customer experience, says BCC

30th April 2019

Commenting on the Rail Delivery Group's submission to the Williams Review of the rail industry, Jane Gratton, Head of Business Environment at the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC), said: -We've always believed the private sector has a central role to play in delivering a rail network that is fit for purpose and that can take responsibility and respond quickly when things go wrong.

Business communities across the country rely on the UK's rail infrastructure to move people and goods to key markets, so it is vital that the sector sees real reform to improve the customer experience. We welcome this contribution from the rail industry, and businesses will support any recommendations that focus rail services on the needs of the customer, provides a fairer and simpler fare system, and which supports modern, agile working patterns.
