Recognising exceptional student and employer contribution to the workplace

9th February 2026

Do you work with a University of Sheffield student worker/student team who deserves a shout-out? The UoS Inspiring Student Worker Awards 2026 are now open for nominations.

This is your chance to recognise and thank students who make an exceptional contribution to your workplace.

A nomination is a fantastic way to make students feel a true sense of belonging within the company. It lets them know that their contribution isn't just helpful, it's valued and appreciated. In addition just by being nominated, students also gain a unique talking point in future applications and interviews for graduate jobs.

Nominations are welcomed for UoS students who have made their mark in the following categories:

  • Significant Contribution Award
  • Leadership Award
  • Innovation and Problem solving Award
  • Team Award

Employers can be nominated by their student worker/s in the Employer category.

Students can nominate or be nominated as follows:

  • Have to be a registered student for the academic year 2025/26.
  • The work must have taken place between 1st July 2025 and 15th March 2026 and be a part-time job, short term internship, vacation work or summer placement with a minimum duration of 50 hours for individuals  (for the team category this is 100 hours combined where the students have worked as a team in the particular role).
  • The work must have been paid.

Find out more and nominate here.

On Wednesday 6th May we plan to hold a celebration event for nominees and nominators where we will announce the winners of each category and present the prizes.

Closing Date: Sunday 15th March 2026
