Santander Universities SME Internship Programme

The University of Sheffield is participating in the Santander Universities SME Internship Programme, connecting talented students with some of the UK's fastest growing, most exciting, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Santander will part fund an internship in your organisation for between 2 and 10 weeks and you can recruit a maximum of 2 interns within the 2018/19 funding year. There are multiple benefits from participating in the scheme; to both you and the student completing an internship. Benefits for you: You are able to tap into a huge pool of talented university students who can bring new ideas into your company. Being part funded by Santander will allow you to hire someone when you might not be able to otherwise It provides the chance to work with talented young professionals who will bring a different experience to the team It provides you with the time and space to explore new avenues, that would not be available without having an intern on board Benefits for the student: They will be able to gain real industry experience alongside completing their studies. It will provide them with the chance to develop and gain new skills that they can use in their studies and in the workplace. It will provide them with the chance to develop new ideas and implement these in real life situations By providing this experience you will help to develop their wider career aspirations and formulate ideas of what they want to go on to do post-graduation.
